2014
A few words from 2014 President Alan Bristow
SCL Stalwart Alan Bristow enters his 5th term as Legends President!
"Well lads, what can i say? It was the greatest acheivement of my career to win the World title for a 5th time but now that just seems like a "Friday night in town" compared to the honour of being the SCL President for the 5th time. If i'm lucky my aim will be to defeat Ray Wilkinson who is a 16 time President, but to be fair that has been at 9 different clubs.
Last year was another great year, congratulations go in particular to the incredible Championship League 1 title winning squad, arguably the greatest league title of them all - considering what was required going into the final games, the character, belief and quality of bowling that followed were outstanding - well done all! Not to be forgotten of course was the runners-up spot in the County Club KO, hopefully we can go one better this year.
Among the individual highlights - Micheal Aldren ensured the club won another County title when he lifted the Hampshire 2 wood singles prize, albeit to then be the subject of a £100,000 transfer to Southsea Waverley under the new Badgeman ruling. Antony Nixon and Pete Ward jnr were part of the Hampshire 8 who carried of the Bowls England Inter County 2 Rink title at Worthing, a great aheivement for them, while another notable victory came for Richard Shelley and John Keat as they carried off the Southampton Open Pairs title for the second successive year. The club also have a superb 10 players selected for the Middleton Cup Trial this year, good luck to you all, here is hoping 2014 brings more victories, titles and memories - lets do it!" - Alan.

A Few words from 2013 President Alan Bristow
SCL Stalwart Alan Bristow now enters his 4th term as Legends President!
"Well firstly what a season 2012 was, as a unit of legends we showed our dominance and had a superb run in pretty much everything, including yet another league title which made it a fab five in a row.
A new season is now upon us and I would like to welcome all the new members to the club as well as best wishes to the existing members, we are the only club around that can say we didn't have a single member leave us and we have increased our numbers.
Thank you for all your support during my stint in the jungle this winter, it was a great experience that has me fighting fit and raring to go for an SCL summer! #votebristow
Lets push on in 2013 and if we go that one step further in everything we will be close to creating history.........again.
Best of luck to you all - Alan".
